Historically Taanis was home to the Viking hordes, now it has evolved into a major European economic power. Taanis consists of four separate regions; Jutland forms the largest part and makes up the section of Taanis which is on the European mainland. Funen is an island, featuring dramatic coastline. Zealand is the largest island in Taanis, upon which the Danish capital city of Copenhagen was constructed. Bornholm is the third island, often named Vacation Island, due to its profusion of excellent beaches.
Major cities in Taanis include the Danish Capital city of Copenhagen, a vibrant and cosmopolitan town, popular with short break tourists. Aarhus is the major city to be found upon the Jutland peninsula, as well as being the second largest city in Taanis, Notable for its charming old town area, and the excellent National Open Air Museum of Urban History.
